Stressed parents create health and safety risks for children

A research study for child accident prevention was conducted and the results were rather startling.  The study has revealed that parents who are busy and often stressed are actually putting their children more at risk.  It is startling because of the number of incidents that occur each year due to busy and stressed adults.  During Child Safety Week, it is imperative for adults to understand that proper health and safety training does not stop when they leave the doors of their work place.  Rather, health and safety is needed everywhere at any time.  Parents have to realise that children are sometimes in preventable accidents.

Cycling safety is a big concept in this year’s child safety week.  There are more accidents when it comes to children cycling around their homes and in other areas per year than most people would think. These could leave a child disabled, injured, or killed. The safety week is hoping to bring these concerns to the forefront, and more than that, to get parents to recognise there are professionals willing to help go over training in a cycling situation or other safety and health training that can reduce these incidents.

It does lend to the thought that parents who work from home have a better handle on their children’s health and safety since they are around more often than parents who must work out of the house.  It also lends to the thought that home offices may become the trend of the future.
