Statistics Released for North Lincolnshire on Health and Safety

Three people died between 2010 and 2011 at work in North Lincolnshire.

The Health and Safety Executive is looking at the three deaths in North Lincolnshire to determine whether certain safety elements need to be changed.  There were three deaths in the region and 24 lives lost at the workplace between 2009 and 2010.  While only three occurred in the last year, the overall number indicates a startling amount of deaths at the workplace in just three years.  There is an added statistic to the issue in that 108 people were seriously injured while at work.  It is down from the previous year, but it is still too high according to the HSE.

About 319 individuals suffered from “three day” injuries, indicating the extent of missed work.  The injury was not enough to stop them from going to work permanently, but it was severe enough that time was taken off.  This is up from the 298 people of the previous year.  In Yorkshire and Humber, 2,600 people suffered from a major injury while at work.  All of these figures make it seem that health and safety companies are in need.
