Paramedic fined for breach of safety and common decency

A paramedic will be suspended at the very least from work.  In a unisex toilet used by ambulance workers a camera phone was found.

After investigations were conducted it was found that the suspect is a male worker.  Health and safety audits are being conducted now to find out what occurred.  The HSE is involved with the incident to see what happened and they did state one worker has been asked to step down from their duty.

The phone was discovered by a female worker using the bathroom.  She was suspicious of a box that was inside the cubicle.  After inspecting the box she found a camera phone that had recorded people using the bathroom.  She contacted her superiors right away.  This led to the health and safety investigations.  It is not only a matter of privacy laws, but also safety.

A person such as this working in the health field could do much worse than taking pictures and videos of women using the bathroom.  It is going to fall under the regulations of health and safety at work.  An investigation of whether he has done this before or what prompted this behaviour now will be done.  The company that hired the worker will also be examined based on the fact that the worker was hired.  The individual was hired and displaying this type of behavior; at least, that seems to be the case.  If there were other incidents or issues with his hiring it will make a difference.
