HSE Report on Caerphilly Borough

Another report by the HSE is out regarding health and safety at the workplace.

The Health and Safety Executive has again looked at another borough in the United Kingdom to assess health and safety at work.  It is no surprise another report is out or that the HSE is still reminding businesses and employees that health and safety on the job is essential.  The reports regarding Caerphilly Borough are rather shocking and the recent news from David Cameron leads many to wonder if he is on the right track in reducing some of the health and safety regulations.

Hundreds of workers were injured in the last two years in Caerphilly.  In fact, 660 were injured at work in the borough.  A startling number of 13,000 people were injured throughout the entire country of Wales.  In the last two years, 18 people have also died.

The breakdown of numbers shows that 9,895 injuries were so extensive that the workers needed at least three days off work.  Roughly 2890 people suffered injuries that were more severe.  The figures reveal that six out of every million workers were killed in the workplace between April 2010 and March 2011.  The high amount of deaths across the UK means that health and safety training courses are needed.  It also shows more attention to health and safety at work is required.  The numbers of workers harmed at work clearly needs to be lowered through training and awareness efforts.
