Health and Safety Results in Olympic Park Fee

It has been announced that a ten pound fee will be charged for spectators that will go to Olympic Park to watch the Olympics on mounted giant screens.  The fee is to help offset the fees for having the screens up in the park and for health and safety reasons.  The decision to charge a fee has become somewhat of a controversial topic since taxpayers already had to pay £7.25 billion for the set up.  The largest screen will be double sided with a pontoon on the River Lea, so that those on the grass can watch the screen in the middle of the river.

The money that attendees pay will go towards the payment for safety officials to work in the park.  Safety officials will be on hand to help with the foot traffic and ensure that the public is safe from any issue that may occur.  Health and safety audits have been conducted at the site already to ensure that the surrounding landscape and the seating are safe for anyone who wishes to attend the spot.  There will be about 20,000 tickets sold for the space.

Attendees will have to pay a fee each day they come.  Additionally, different events will be shown on the screen to keep individuals up to date on the various sports such as basketball, handball, and aquatics.  About 8.8 million tickets have been sold for the individual locations at which sports will be held. The park is for those who want to be involved, but do not want to pay for the tickets into the venues.
