Call centre workers suffer from health and safety issues

One call centre has been called into question regarding safety and health in the work place. The issue has to deal with approximately one quarter of the employees who have had their access to restroom breaks restricted.  This could affect a person’s health and safety.  The report was published by the associated press stating that a certain call centre is putting workers at risk.  Other issues in call centres include eye strain due to the computers.  Several others have hearing and voice issues with handling so many calls in a day.

The release of the study shows how important it is for any business to focus on health and safety training, not only for the employees, but also for the employers.  All employers in the UK have a duty of care they must follow.  If they do not then they put their employees at risk.  This example may have been a study on call centre issues that has recently cropped up, but there are many industries that are more dangerous that also have safety training issues.

The HSE is a good example of where to examine the many cases of health and safety at work that occur each year.  It also makes it imperative for you as a business owner to focus on your own safety training to ensure that you avoid any fines, accidents, or incidents at work that can result in overlooking important health and safety laws.
