Toyota events may raise interest in manual handling training courses
Health and safety issues will be at the forefront during two events involving Toyota, one scheduled for this coming September and one for October. Issues related to manual handling are expected to take centre stage at the events, with Toyota sharing its experiences with workplace safety when it comes to this fundamental aspect of promoting worker well-being.
In mid-September, Toyota will participate in the Health and Safety Midlands conference, an event that takes place at the National Motorcycle Museum located in Birmingham. Toyota will occupy stand 20; it will be the first time the Japanese car maker attends the event as an exhibitor. Then in mid-October, Toyota will be present at stand 78 in the Reebok Stadium in Bolton as it once again participates in the Health and Safety North event.
Toyota’s role as an exhibitor in these two events is linked to the company’s current safety campaign. Entitled, “Taking Care with Toyota,” the intent of the campaign is to assist other companies in their efforts to reduce workplace accidents and injuries. As part of the programme, Toyota will distribute a variety of safety resources free of charge and will provide interested parties with recommendations and valuable input into the issues surrounding manual handling.
According to Tony Wallis, who serves Toyota Material Handling UK as sales and marketing director: “Promoting health and safety in the workplace is important to Toyota and these Health and Safety events provide the ideal platform for us to demonstrate how our products can help to reduce the risk of manual handling and improve safety at work.”
